Next Generation Smart Cameras from Sony
The XCI-SX100/XP and XCI-SX100C/XP cameras are equipped with a 1/3-type progressive scan CCD that achieves outstanding picture quality and high-resolution SXGA images (1280 x 960) at 30 fps. The XCI-V100/XP and XCI-V100C/XP employs a 1/3-type progressive scan CD that captures clear images in VGA resolution (640 x 480) at a frame rate of up to 90 fps. Compared to previous models, these smart cameras are equipped with enhanced processing power (x86-compatible 1GHz, VIA Eden ULV), built-in Microsoft® Windows® XPe operating system, and a highly capable 512MB of SDRAM memory. They achieve high-speed processing with low power consumption, and also offer high-speed network operation up to 1000Base-T. In addition, these unique cameras are equipped with various interfaces, including: two USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet I/F to enable wideband transmission, monitor output, serial interface (RS-232C), trigger input, and exposure output. They also employ Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) as an additional processing device, which enables easy customization for system designers via programmable blocks.

Sony XCL-5005 & XCL-5005CR

Color or Black & White Digital Megapixel Cameras
Sony is expanding its Camera Link family with the introduction of the XCL-5005 (B/W) and XCL-5005CR (Color) Digital Cameras for demanding industrial inspection applications. Both the XCL-5005 and XCL-5005CR cameras incorporate a 2/3-type progressive scan IT CCD that produces ultra-high resolution images of over 5,000,000 effective pixels at 15 fps. In addition, these cameras employ the standard Camera Link interface,which is switchable to PoCL (Power over Camera Link) enabling users to simplify connections to various machine-vision systems. These cameras are compatible with standard C-mount lenses adding to their cost-effectiveness.

The new IK-HR1D camera is the perfect answer to those users who have been asking for a one-piece 1080i/1080p HD camera from Toshiba Imaging for scientific, broadcast, and industrial users.
This one-piece single-chip CMOS camera is in an ULTRA COMPACT sized housing measuring just 1-3/4" x 1-3/4" x 4 1/16” and weighs but 4.3 ounces.
Outputs a full 1920 x 1080 resolution (12-bit) switch able between 1080i and 1080p at 60 fps via DVI-I. The DVI-I output affords the user more flexibility by interfacing with less expensive HD monitors and recorders and can easily be converted to HDMI via adapter.

Sony XCI-V3

Sony's new XCI-V3 and XCI-V3/XPE cameras are not just another Smart camera. These are industrial cameras with an industrious IQ: a complete PC with a high-end CCD camera in a small, networkable package. Unlike conventional machine vision cameras, images captured by the XCI-V3 and XCI-V3/XPE are processed within the camera and the processed data is directly transmitted to a PC over a network.
The new XCI-V3 camera incorporates a 1/3-type VGA B&W progressive scan CCD and is equipped with a Linux®-based operating system. The XCI-V3/XPE camera also incorporates a 1/3-type VGA B&W progressive scan CCD but comes with Windows® XPe (embedded) operating system. These cameras feature a high-performance AMD Geode GX533 processor, 256MB SDRAM, integrated Compact Flash memory storage and extensive I/O connectivity via Ethernet, USB serial port and monitor out. Both cameras also feature a 3x3 filter that can be used to enhance the edges of an object, improve the contrast so that image details can stand out or for other custom image processing requirements.
These smart cameras are designed to provide OEMs, system integrators and vision tool manufacturers a rugged, robust component, combining the imager, intelligence and interface in a single plug-in module that is simple to set up and easy to integrate for efficient factory workflow.
